Manufacturing Process >> Newsprint
The company manufactures five different qualities of Newsprints i.e. Deluxe, Deluxe Prime, Super Deluxe, Premium and Super Premium. Imported waste paper is the main raw material for making this grade of paper. By and large, the first three qualities are widely used by small and medium sized Newspaper Groups as the same are economically priced whereas, the Premium and Super Premium varieties are comparatively higher priced products.
Reputed publication houses such as Indian Express Group, Sakal, Lokmat, Jagaran, Pudhari, Nava Kaal, Janmabhoomi, Sandesh, Mumbai Samachar etc., across the country patronize the Company's products.
Company has a dedicated Unit viz. N. R. Agarwal Industries Ltd. - Unit II to manufacture Newsprint, 100 MT per day. Basic Raw Material is recycled fiber. The company has Fourdrinier Paper Machine with pressurized head box and latest press and drying system followed by the good stack of calenders for manufacturing smooth and good quality Newsprint.
Presently Deluxe, Deluxe-Prime, Supper Deluxe, Premium & Supper premium quality Newsprint is manufactured in 45 GSM. Brightness is the main criteria for the classification of different grades of the Newsprint. Lowest Brightness is 50% with maximum being 62%. Newsprint manufactured by the Group has good bulk and opacity to the extent of 90% and above so that there are no see-through effects.
All parameters like Porosity, Smoothness, Non-uniformity Index, Tear Factor, and Breaking Length are maintained as per the standard requirements. Laboratory is well equipped with latest testing facilities. All our supplies are manufactured under strict quality supervision.

Runnability and Printability of Newsprint is excellent on all types of the Offset Printing presses. Reel diameter is usually 100 cms with 95% without joints and remaining 5% with one joint, which is well marked. Newsprint manufactured by the Group is suitable for auto-splicing at speed of 40,000 impressions per hour on any Offset Printing Press.
